Concrete Pixel
Concrete Pixel is an attempt to bring a digital unit into the physical world. A cube that is made from concrete could be part of the world of Minecraft. The work can be seen as material and heavy but also as light and immaterial, all at the same time.
In beneath its heavy appearance Concrete Pixel is an interactive multichannel video installation. The artwork also consists of an augmented reality part which resembles the physical work. In the AR world it is possible to visit inside the virtual cube and see the same video there than in the real-world installation. When audiences visit the virtual cube, it pixelates the video inside the cube and harms the landscape that once was perfect.
Soundscape was made by Eino Rauhala. For screening purposes single channel version without interactivity is also available.
